Serves 4


2 medium beetroot, cooked and peeled

400 g canned chickpeas, drained and liquid reserved

1 lemon, juiced

1 garlic clove, crushed

1 tbsp tahini paste

½ tsp ground cumin

3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil, plus extra to drizzle

2 tbsp mixed seeds

1 loaf Livlife seriously seeded bread


  1. Put the beetroot, drained chickpeas, lemon juice, garlic, tahini, cumin and olive oil in a liquidiser with a large pinch of salt. Blend until smooth, adding a little of the reserved chickpea liquid if needed. Check the seasoning and add more salt if needed.
  2. Divide the hummus between four small bowls. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with seeds.
  3. Toast our delicious healthy bread to your liking and cut into triangles. Serve immediately. Any leftover hummus can be stored in the fridge for 4 days.
